There's MasterCard & Visa.

The more you know, the more you forget
The more you forget, the less you know
So ... Why learn.

Way to go, Sheryn!

Sisters

I simply adore Summer... for all the love she's showering on Sheryn...

Having a sister of my own, I can't agree any stronger that a sister is indeed the Best Friend that I can ever have.

Enjoy your sisterhood, Summer and Sheryn!

Lots of Love,

Mummy

PARENT - Job Description

(I received this email, I think, from my hubby long time ago.... Just wanna share this with you guys... hahaha.....)

This is hysterical. If it had been presented this way, none of us would have done it!!!!

POSITION:
Mom, Mommy, Mama, Ma

Dad, Daddy, Dada, Pa

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Long term, team players needed, for challenging permanent work in an, often chaotic environment. Candidates must possess excellent communication and organizational skills
And be willing to work variable hours, which will include evenings and weekends and frequent 24 hour shifts on call. Some overnight travel required, including trips to primitive camping sites on rainy weekends and endless sports tournaments in far away cities! Travel expenses not reimbursed. Extensive courier duties also required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The rest of your life.
Must be willing to be hated, at least temporarily, until someone needs $5.
Must be willing to bite tongue repeatedly.
Also, must possess the physical stamina of a pack mule and be able to go from zero to 60 mph in three seconds flat in case, this time, the screams from the backyard are not someone just crying wolf.
Must be willing to face stimulating technical challenges, such as small gadget repair, mysteriously sluggish toilets and stuck zippers.
Must screen phone calls, maintain calendars and coordinate production of multiple homework projects.
Must have ability to plan and organize social gatherings for clients of all ages and mental outlooks. Must be willing to be indispensable one minute, and an embarrassment the next.
Must handle assembly and product safety testing of a half million cheap, plastic toys, and battery operated devices.
Must always hope for the best but be prepared for the worst.
Must assume final, complete accountability for the quality of the end product. Responsibilities also include floor maintenance and janitorial work throughout the facility.

POSSIBILITY FOR ADVANCEMENT & PROMOTION:
None. Your job is to remain in the same position for years, without complaining. Constantly retraining and updating your skills, so that those in your charge can ultimately surpass you.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE:
None required unfortunately. On-the-job training offered on a continually exhausting basis.

WAGES AND COMPENSATION:
Get this! You pay them! Offering frequent raises and bonuses. A balloon payment is due when they turn 18 because of the assumption that college will help them become financially independent. When you die, you give them whatever is left. The oddest thing about this reverse-salary scheme is that you actually enjoy it and wish you could only do more.

BENEFITS:
While no health or dental insurance, no pension, no tuition reimbursement, no paid holidays and no stock options are offered; this job supplies limitless opportunities for personal growth and free hugs for life if you play your cards right.

More poses at the beach...

A natural entertainer, oh my...

taken at the East Coast Park, on July 2nd...
Aiyo, Summer is such a natural entertainer! She simply posed non-stop when I took out the camera!
Way to go, Summer!
You're my S T A R!

Just couldn't get enough of you....

Mirrors, mirrors on the walls..

Summer realised that there are her reflections on the mirrors, and she posed almost during every use of the hotel lift!

I Love Ronald!

"S" for Shopping??

"Yeah, besides the rides, we could do shopping leh! Mummy bought many things for me..."

Is my dimple still there?

ooh.. it's quite cold here.... Has my dimple shrunk??

Take my Car, anyone?

Ooh... cars, cars, everywhere! Good thing Summer doesn't ask to have money slotted for each ride. Well, that's really one good thing about her there! hehe...

In the coach...

Yeah! Genting, here we come!

Summer was simpy amused with all the facilities we could find in this coach! Video, ear phones, massage chairs, hahaha....

Nice pose, huh?

I love this photo! Such a model, huh? hehe...

Funny Summer

It's been a long long while since last updated this blog...

These photos were taken recently in May 2006, when we went to Genting, Malaysia for a short holiday. That was the first time Summer left Singapore, and she was extremely excited about it. Boy, was she wonderful! Even though we had not completely toilet-trained her, she was able to stay dry in the coach during the long journey... Of course, she had her toilet breaks during the intervals together with us all... I was really impressed!

Anyway, the only regret is that Summer's daddy couldn't come along with us all during this trip! wellz... next time hor, dd? =)

Pacifier "has gone to work"

I was reading a parenting article just now, about how to help your child wean off a pacifier... And I recalled how I was warned not to let Summer use a pacifier, 'cos it's exasperating trying to wean it off.

Well, thing is, we'd offered Summer a pacifier (kinda like "for fun") when she was about 4 mths old,and she'd REFUSED it! We laughed it off. It was about 6 or 7 months, when she was teething and had discomfort that we offered it to her again. This time, she appreciated it! Fondly, we all started to name it "du-du".

However by the time Summer was 11 months or so, we decided to wean off the "du-du".

First day, she looked high and low for "du-du", and started to wail... I couldn't take it any longer....and gave in.

Second day, before her afternoon nap, she started to look for "du-du" frantically. I'd hidden "du-du", and finally, she managed to fall asleep after a fruitless search.

Then came the third day, I hoped Summer would be as tired and quickly go to sleep... Noooo...she didn't do that..... Here she asked again, "Mummy, du-du.." "Mm..Summer, where has du-du gone?" (in the same tone I ask her where daddy has gone.) And guess her answer? "Du-du has gone to work." YES! That's it! =) "Yes darling, du-du has gone to work. Now, let's sleep..."

And the rest was history.

Yes, envy me, 3 days was all I took for Summer to wean off her Pacifier! Hooray!!!!!! Well done, Summer!

Lotsa lurve,
Mummy of Summer

Being a Parent

Being a parent changes everything...... BUT being a parent also changes with each baby.

Your Clothes
1st baby: You begin wearing maternity clothes as soon as your OB/GYN confirms your pregnancy.
2nd baby: You wear your regular clothes for as long as possible.
3rd baby: Your maternity clothes ARE your regular clothes.
Preparing for the Birth
1st baby: You practice your breathing religiously.
2nd baby: You don't bother practicing because you remember that last time, breathing didn't do a thing.
3rd baby: You ask for an epidural in your 8th month.
The Nursery
1st baby: You pre-wash your newborn's clothes, color-coordinate them, and fold them neatly in the baby's little bureau.
2nd baby: You check to make sure that the clothes are clean and discard only the ones with the darkest stains.
3rd baby: Boys can wear pink, can't they?
Worries
1st baby: At the first sign of distress - a whimper, a frown-you pick up the baby.
2nd baby: You pick the baby up when her wails threaten to wake your firstborn.
3rd baby: You teach your 3-year-old how to rewind the mechanical swing.
Pacifier
1st baby: If the pacifier falls on the floor, you put it away until you can go home and wash and boil it.
2nd baby: When the pacifier falls on the floor, you squirt it off with some juice from the baby's bottle.
3rd baby: You wipe it off on your shirt and pop it back in.
Diapering
1st baby: You change your baby's diapers every hour, whether they need it or not.
2nd baby: You change their diaper every 2 to 3 hours, if needed.
3rd baby: You try to change their diaper before others start to complain about the smell or you see it sagging to their knees.
Activities
1st baby: You take your infant to Baby Gymnastics, Baby Swing, and Baby Story Hour.
2nd baby: You take your infant to Baby Gymnastics.
3rd baby: You take your infant to the supermarket and the dry cleaner.
Going Out
1st baby: The first time you leave your baby with a sitter, you call home 5 times.
2nd baby: Just before you walk out the door, you remember to leave a number where you can be reached.
3rd baby: You leave instructions for the sitter to call only if she sees blood.
At Home
1st baby: You spend a good bit of every day just gazing at the baby.
2nd baby: You spend a bit of everyday watching to be sure your older child isn't squeezing, poking, or hitting the baby.
3rd baby: You spend a little bit of every day hiding from the children.
Swallowing Coins
1st child: when first child swallows a coin, you rush the child to the hospital and demand x-rays.
2nd child: when 2nd child swallows a coin, you carefully watch for coin to pass.
3rd child: when 3rd child swallows a coin you deduct it from his allowance!!

Dedication to my dear hubby ~ And I Love You So

And I love you so
The people ask me how
How I've lived till now
I tell them I don't know
I guess they understand
How lonely life has been
But life began again
The day you took my hand

And yes I know how lonely life can be
The shadows follow me
And the night won't set me free
But I don't let the evening get me down
Now that you're around me

And you love me too
Your thoughts are just for me
You set my spirit free
I'm happy that you do
The book of life is brief
And once a page is read
All but love is dead
That is my belief

***********************************************************************************
Thank you for supporting me to pursue my dreams... to make decisions about my life, though our lives have become one family's...
And thank you so much, for believing in me... that we can have a wonderful life with our darling Summer.
Thank you also, for bearing with me that sometimes my schedule can become quite erratic, and BUSY, that Summer has to stay over at mummy's place (I know you miss your princess dearly on such nights...)
Thank you, dear, for loving me... I love you too (3,4,5...hehe..) ... =)
